Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and G. Rizzo, an individual based in Italy who runs Breef (“Breef”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using Breef at breef.app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Breef.

The service

Breef reads the email in inboxes you connect and turns the messages that ask something of you into tasks. Breef is in early development: features may change, and it’s currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to use Breef.
• Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can open your email can use Breef’s access links.
• You’re responsible for what happens in your Breef account.

Your inboxes

Only connect inboxes that are yours or that you’re authorised to connect, for example by your employer. By connecting one, you allow Breef to read its email as described in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect an inbox at any time.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Breef to break the law, to access data you’re not allowed to, to interfere with the service or its security, or to resell it without our permission.

Tasks are suggestions

Breef uses automated systems, including AI models, to decide which emails need you and to write tasks. They can miss an email, misread one, or get a due date wrong. Breef is a help, not a guarantee: keep an eye on your inbox for anything important, and check tasks before you rely on them.

Your content

Your email and tasks remain yours. You give us permission to process them only as needed to provide Breef to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Breef’s software

Breef’s software, design, and brand belong to us. These terms let you use the service; they don’t give you any other rights to it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Other services

Breef works with services run by others, like Gmail and Outlook. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we’re not responsible for them.

Stopping

You can stop using Breef and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. We may also stop offering Breef, with reasonable notice.

Warranties and liability

Breef is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we’re not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of Breef.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that can’t be limited under Italian law, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer under the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005).

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you’re a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live, and you keep any protection the law of your country gives you.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you by email or in Breef before it takes effect; continuing to use Breef afterwards means you accept it.
