Remember the mechanism, not just the fact
Medicine is a web: a receptor explains a drug, which explains a side effect. Breef lets you write it that way, link by link, and brings every note back for review before it fades.
Made for a curriculum that never stops
Years of systems, drugs and diseases, kept connected and kept in memory.
Link across systems
A note on the renin–angiotensin system links to ACE inhibitors, hypertension and the kidney. Open any of them and the connections are there, both ways.
Spaced reviews, built in
Notes come back after 1, 3, 7, 21, 60 and 120 days for as long as you remember them, and the next day when you don’t. No separate deck to keep.
Quizzed on your own notes
When a note is due, Breef asks three questions written from it and shows each answer beside the line of your note it comes from.
Every lecture, written up
Record a lecture in a note and get it written up with its key points and what the lecturer stressed for the exam.
Questions
Does Breef replace Anki?
It works differently. Anki reviews flashcards you write; Breef reviews your notes themselves and quizzes you with questions written from them, so the explanation and the review live in one place. Plenty of students use both.
How does the review schedule work?
A note is due a day after you write it. Each time you remember it, the next review is further out: 3, 7, 21, 60, then 120 days. When it’s shaky, it comes back the next day.
Can Breef help me spot gaps?
Missing topics suggests the ideas a note relies on that you haven’t written about yet, like the physiology behind a pathology. Free accounts get 3 looks a month.
Are my recordings kept?
No. The audio is transcribed as you record and never stored: only the text ends up in your note.
