Keep years of reading tied to the ideas it shaped
Write a note for each paper, book or talk, link it to the concepts it touches, and watch your research take shape as a map. When it’s time to write, what you read is one search away.
From reading to writing
The notes you take today become the argument you write next year.
Literature notes that link
Link each source’s note to the concepts it supports or challenges. Every concept’s note lists the notes that link to it.
Sources kept with the note
Paste a link and it becomes a badge with the site’s icon and a preview of the page. Drop in PDFs and images and they stay with the note.
A map of your field
Knowledge draws every note and link as a graph, grouped by project and coloured by subject. Replay it to see how your thinking grew.
Search everything
Press ⌘K to search the titles and text of every note, and jump straight to it.
Questions
Can I write maths?
Yes. Write LaTeX between $ signs inside a sentence, or between $$ lines for a formula of its own. Breef typesets it as you write.
Can I bring in the notes I already have?
Paste text or import a Markdown or text file into a note. Breef keeps your notes as Markdown, with [[links]] between them.
How much can I store?
Free accounts hold 250 MB of images and files, and Pro holds 10 GB. Your notes’ text doesn’t count towards it.
Is my research used to train AI?
No. Your notes are never sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
