Make a revision timetable in a minute
Add your subjects and their exam dates, say how long you can study a day, and get a plan for every day up to the last exam. Then put it in your calendar.
Your timetable
Let Breef bring it back before each exam
Give each course its exam date in Breef and its notes come back for review more and more often until the day before, with questions on them.
How to use it
- Add each subject with the date of its exam.
- Set the hours you can study a day, the day you start, and the days of the week you keep free.
- Read your timetable day by day: what to study and for how long. The day before each exam is for that subject alone.
- Add it to your calendar: each day becomes an all-day event saying what to study, and each exam one of its own.
Why it’s planned this way
Spreading a subject over many days (spacing) and mixing subjects from one day to the next (interleaving) are two of the best-tested ways to remember more from the same hours. A week on one subject at a time feels thorough, and fades faster.
Nearer exams get a bigger share of each day, but subjects further off are never dropped, so nothing is left for the last week. The day before an exam goes to that exam alone, for one last full pass.
Questions
How does it decide what to study each day?
Every subject whose exam is still ahead gets a share of the day, bigger the nearer its exam. A subject that got less one day is first in line the next. Sessions are an hour long, and a day has no more than three subjects.
What happens on an exam day?
An exam day has half your usual time, for the subjects still to come. The day before each exam is for that subject only; when that’s a day off, the last study day before it is.
Can I put it in Google Calendar?
Yes: Add to my calendar downloads a file that Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook opens, with an all-day event on each study day listing what to study, and one on each exam.
Is my timetable saved anywhere?
No. It’s worked out in your browser, and nothing you type leaves it. Download the calendar file to keep it.
Do I need an account?
No. The planner is free. Breef, free to start too, keeps your notes for each course and brings them back for review more and more often as each exam nears.
